When I came across this quote in the article, it really made me think of how far we have come in the digital age. I remember when text messaging became so popular and to think that we are moving into an era where communication is becoming more visual than text. Individuals are being able to communicate with others that speak in a different language without learning the language. This is something that I feel that we have never done before. We keep coming up with new ways to communicate and you wonder what will be next.
The image I chose above was to communicate my thoughts to the quote. As time goes by it feel likes our world is getting smaller and smaller because we keep striving in leaps and bounds. Things that once stood in our way (such as language barriers) are being dissolved. Once we think there is nothing greater out there something new is being created and its better than before. It seems that nothing can stand in the way of learning and the inventing of new things.
Hello, my name is Ashley Stevens. I am originally from Fairmont, WV, but about two years ago I moved to a small town called Hundred, WV. I moved to Hundred for my first art teaching job and my now husband had a place for me to live so I went for it and got the job! My first job at Valley High School was a great experience and I will forever remember those students. At the end of last year, my husband and I decided for me to try and get a teaching job in Marion County. Well, to say the least it worked out and I am now the art teacher at East Park Elementary. I teach to students in grades Kindergarten to Fourth grade. I really love my job and I feel very blessed that I get to teach what I love and make an impact on a child's life. Also, I am currently in the Masters program where I am going for my Masters in Professional Studies. EDUC 6809 is my last class to complete and I will be graduating this summer after completing the class.
Me and Digital Media/ Technology
What that I am trying to get out of this class is to be more comfortable with digital media and using it in my classroom. I feel that I do know how to use some things, but I feel with technology always advancing that I would just like to stay up to date with technology and digital media so my classes new and fresh. I feel it is important for me as a teacher to keep my classroom technology friendly. I guess that some people don't think that an art room needs technology, but as a teacher I know my classroom is lacking in the use of technology. The only thing that I have in my room is a projector and I use it in any way I can. I feel that trying to be up to date with technology is effected by my lack of technology in my classroom.
